Today, January 10th is our eight year anniversary! Eight years ago in the historic village of Powhatan, Virginia, Jennifer Roberts, her husband and two daughters opened Courthouse Coffee & Creamery at 3837 Old Buckingham Road. With a vision of coffee, ice cream and exceptional customer service, Courthouse Coffee & Creamery was adamant about bringing a family-fun atmosphere to Powhatan where everyone was welcome. After two years of rapid growth, Courthouse Coffee & Creamery outgrew the tiny 450 square feet building and moved two doors down to 3844 Old Buckingham Road. There MABELS was born. With an appetite for burgers and ice cream, MABELS was destined to Make Awesome Burgers Everybody Love'S. In April of 2017, MABELS introduced Crazy Milkshakes to Powhatan; Crazy Shakes are an epic milkshake topped with cake, ice cream sandwiches, chocolate, cotton candy and so much more! They bring a smile and 'wow' to all the children’s faces - both young and old. In October of 2019, MABELS moved to their flagship location at 1800 A South Creek One Powhatan, VA. Here, MABELS continues to provide exceptional customer service, delicious craft burgers everybody loves, and crazy shakes that brings joy to all who visit.
